RIDGEBACKS
The Rhodesian Ridgeback originated in South Africa.  The purpose of the breed was to primarily hunt lions.  The ridgeback is known as a faithful, loving companion who wants to protect their master.  These dogs are active and generally healthy.  They need to be exercised daily or will find ways to exercise themselves which you may not approve of.  They also like to chase so a fenced in yard is recommended.

We purchased our first ridgeback, Morgan, from Diana Hogan, Kopera Ridgebacks in Sparta Ontario.  Morgan has been a truly faithful, loyal companion.  Three years later we purchased our second, Josie, from Heather Allison, Priderock Ridgebacks.

Morgan has had a very successful career in the show ring and Josie has finished her CKC Championship and will continue to be seen in the ring.

Before any breeding takes place our ridgebacks are tested for hips/elbows displaysia and thyroid.  Temperament is of utmost importance along with conformation and health.
